Rusk County Solutions Report
With the leadership and guidance of our Board, Executive Committee, and Advisory Committees, we are hard at work to serve East Texas and provide regional solutions. This report offers information and stats on how we served the community in the Fiscal Year 2025 (October 1 - September 30) through our service agencies. It has been our pleasure to serve Rusk County!
Grants Allocated
$799K in grants were funded within the county to help build strong communities, improve public safety, and/or minimize solid waste
Public Safety
$4.7K was invested to train peace officers and strengthen public safety initiatives
Senior Services
345 seniors received services through our Area Agency on Aging to meet the social, nutritional, educational, and logistic needs of residents
Transportation
3.3K public transit trips were provided through GoBus to help residents get to where they need to go
Workforce Development
1,037 job seekers and employers were served by Workforce Solutions East Texas, and $1.6M went to families within the county to subsize their child care

Working with local, state, and federal partners, ETCOG assists with prioritizing and administering important grants in our region. The following grants were awarded this fiscal year for solid waste minimization, public safety, and/or economic development initiatives.
- $765,000 – TxCDBG Community Development Fund (City of Easton)
- $20,411.88 - Justice Assistance Grant (City of Overton)
- $13,951.50 - Regional Evaluation Services for Juveniles (Rusk County)
- $75,000 - High Demand Job Training Grant (Henderson High School)
- $30,778 - High Demand Job Training Grant (Kilgore College - Henderson Campus)
Public Safety
ETCOG assists the region with public safety planning to help our local communities and first responders coordinate resources and training.

ETCOG administers the Area Agency on Aging of East Texas, utilizing state and federal funding to help seniors with information and referral assistance, benefits counseling, legal assistance, care coordination and caregiver support.
