GRANTS AVAILABLE
Body-Worn Camera Program

Funding Available from the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division

The Office of the Governor (OOG), Criminal Justice Division (CJD) has announced grant funding available for the Body-Worn Camera Program. The grant information and application can be viewed here: http://gov.texas.gov/cjd/bodycams

Tips from the OOG are as follows:

• The Contact Person on the Preliminary Application (PA) should be someone with a working knowledge of the jurisdiction's body camera needs, much like a Project Director's function in eGrants.
• Only one PA per agency - it's important that jurisdictions communicate, among their staff, so that multiple people aren't submitting more than one PA for a given agency.
• Text Alpha/Numeric parameters haven't been set, as of yet, in the PA fields but will be remedied within a few days.
• You can't save a partially completed PA.

NOTE: All information concerning this grant is posted at the above link. Please read carefully. Agencies will apply directly to CJD and there are no required ETCOG grant application workshops/priority hearings. CJD will make all funding decisions.

If you need any help during this process or have questions concerning this grant please feel free to contact ETCOG's Director of Public Safety, Stephanie Heffner, at (903) 218-6461.
