On Saturday, May 9, the East Texas Corridor Council in conjunction with the East Texas Council of Governments, North Central Texas Council of Governments, the Northwest Louisiana Council of Governments, and the North Delta Regional Planning and Development District held the 2009 Ark-La-Tex Rail Summit in Marshall, Texas.
This year marked an expansion from previous years with the inclusion of the states of Arkansas and an additional region in Louisiana with the common goal of bringing higher speed rail corridors into those states.
