EDA Grants

The EDA website still encourages applicants to apply over grants.gov.  Due to some issues with the site, we ask that all applications be sent in hardcopy form rather than through the website.  EDA prefers to receive one original (with original signatures) and two copies.  The documents all state "Completed by grants.gov upon submission" in the signature block.  Authorized representatives (e.g. the mayor) should either sign right over the words or right below the signature block).  In addition the ETEDD has posted all of the forms on its website. These can be downloaded and used for submission as well.

For those entities seeking funding please review the FFO for regular funds (EDAP) and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act FFO.  These documents explain the requirements and procedures for applying.  EDA does not fund private organizations, and there is a strong preference for projects that can confirm that they will create a certain number of jobs.

All applicants must fill out the ED 900.  It can be filled in electronically and, in fact, will highlight the sections that need to be filled in as the applicant goes.  Most projects will be under economic adjustment or public works.  Additional forms may change according to the type of entity, type of grant, or the economic situation.
In order for the ETEDD to review the project please submit a brief write-up to the ETEDD Board of Directors. The ETEDD, if approved, will issue either a resolution or a letter of support for inclusion in the loan application.
For communities who have had a major change in their unemployment rate since the census or who have seen substantial lay-offs, and who have a good project, please call either the EDA or the ETEDD to discuss.

As always, please feel free to contact the ETEDD staff should you have any questions at (903) 984-8641 or by email at julie.burnfield@etcog.org.
