Volunteer Opportunities 

The Ombudsman Program of the Area Agency on Aging of East Texas sponsored by the East Texas Council of Governments actively supports the use of trained volunteers in serving the frail, elderly or handicapped citizens of East Texas who reside in long-term care. The volunteer holds a special relationship with the residents in his/her assigned facility. The volunteers come from all walks of life but all have a special trait of caring, high expectations for care and enthusiasm for life. Nursing homes are assisted living facilities are places where people live and care should be the highest quality available and opportunities for enrichment to daily living. The volunteers weekly strive to bring this quality to those that they serve.
