Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC)
The SWAC is comprised of 24 members from the public and private sectors as well as general citizens and ex-officio members. The Committee meets to discuss the following items prior to submission to TCEQ:
- ETCOG solid waste grant applications;
- Pass-through grant determinations and ETCOG managed project determinations;
- Review of TCEQ direct grant applications and permit applications for regional plan consistency; and
- Quarterly progress reports.
In general meetings of the Committee include, but are not limited to, discussion of the following:
- Status of various solid waste management activities in or affecting the region;
- Success or problems experienced by members;
- New or proposed solid waste laws or regulations;
- Opportunities for grants or cooperative efforts; and
- Various issues of interest or concern.
