Solid Waste Planning Services

ETCOG is the state designated organization for municipal solid waste (MSW) planning in the 14 county region.  To fulfill this directive ETCOG provides the following services:  

• Coordinating a regional solid waste advisory committee; 
  Maintaining a regional solid waste management plan;
• Maintaining an inventory of closed MSW landfills
• Providing technical assistance and informational programs pertaining to solid waste management
• Administering a pass-through grant program to provide funding for regional and local MSW projects
• Serving as a central point of contact for solid waste management outreach, education, and training programs
• Reviewing permit and registration applications for municipal solid waste facilities for conformance with the adopted regional solid waste management plan for the region
